Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts, working 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30 with every other weekend required.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) with inpatient oncology experience. The chosen candidate will deliver comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients, adhering to treatment protocols and standards while providing emotional and education support for patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed.
• Monitor and manage patients experiencing acute complications.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and symptom management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Epic charting system.
• Perform patient assessments including vital signs and lab results interpretation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in Maryland or a Compact License.
• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient oncology experience.
• Current certifications: BLS, NIHSS (required); ACLS and Chemo (preferred).
• Experience with the Epic charting system.
• Preferred previous charge experience.
