Sanitation Manager

Ensure compliance with food safety and quality requirements under the site food safety plan, Corporate Sanitation policies, and regulatory requirements. Provide training, development, and technical support to site employees and direct reports to maximize department efficiency and drive continuous improvement. Oversee scheduling and coordination of all Master Sanitation Schedule activities, including SSOP development and validation. Supervise a department of hourly Sanitation Specialists. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams from Corporate Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Maintenance to provide technical input. Manage waste management, environmental monitoring, pest control, utility chemicals, and QA/QC on the environmental monitoring program. Order and maintain inventory of facility operating supplies, including sanitation chemicals, safety equipment, PPE, janitorial supplies, and cleaning equipment. Track and monitor savings per contractual agreements with suppliers and evaluate supplier performance, addressing non‑performance. Stay abreast of new sanitation technologies and practices for the site. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, biological sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 5 years leading and managing teams within the food manufacturing industry. Strong knowledge of food facility sanitation practices and manufacturing processes. Tactical knowledge and application of food safety principles (e.g., Regulatory, PCQI, HACCP, SQF, GMPs, food microbiology). Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels and external stakeholders. Proven leadership ability within a cross‑functional plant or operations team. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong working relationships. Commitment to fostering a culture of engagement, diversity, and inclusion. Ability to lead by example, coach, and develop team members in a high‑performance environment.
