Associate Accounting Analyst

Position Overview The Associate Accounting Analyst assists in the accounting, planning, reporting, and analysis of assigned business activity for the company. This role performs GAAP-compliant accounting and controls for assigned areas and provides support to business partners in budget development and management. Responsibilities Prepare required recurring analysis, including explanation of variances, for finance/business partners. Review assigned Profit & Loss statements to ensure reasonableness and accuracy. Research abnormal situations and identify variances. Prepare, review and process journal entries as required to accurately reflect financial activities for a given period. Assist the business group in developing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts including gathering and sharing additional data in assigned areas, providing helpful trending (Prior year, actual vs. budget, etc.) Review and validate monthly balances to ensure they are appropriately stated in accordance with established accounting practices. Prepare and communicate balance composition and variance analysis to management, including calling out issues. Prepare special financial reports requested by the business group and/or Finance management. Propose appropriate adjusting journal entries. Review expense invoices for accuracy and proper authorization, ensuring proper approvals, invoice coding accuracy, and document approval chain. Review and validate internal financial reporting for consistency with GAAP accounting principles. Maintain relevant desk procedures, checklists, and checklist performance. Collect information for third‑party audits to assist with External Reporting and audits. Travel Required: No Environment Office: Office Temperature 65°F to 75°F Skills Specialized Knowledge: General understanding of accounting principles and GAAP Special Skills: Proficiency in Excel; Experience with financial systems and software preferred (e.g., GL package, Financial reporting system); Ability to communicate effectively & maintain relationships; Analytical skills Physical Abilities: (none specified) Other: (none specified) Years Of Experience 0-2: A minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting role.
