Silktown Roofing is currently hiring an Estimator based out of our Derby, CT or Glastonbury, CT office. If you are team oriented and driven by success, we'd love to hear from you. Whether you have two years or twenty years of construction estimating experience, we can tailor the role to your experience.

Responsibilities

• Organize, analyze and interpret drawings and specifications and other bid documents.
• Provide clear detailed quantity take offs.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Prepare estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
• Solicit and organize sub-contractors' quotations during bid process.
• Maintain subcontractor database.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 5+ years of experience estimating within the construction industry: commercial roofing experience preferred. Someone with less experience may be considered.
• Experience using sophisticated estimating software; experience with The EDGE is a plus.
• Ability to analyze information, estimate and plan.
• Experience working with contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications, change orders, RFIs, submittals a plus.
• Knowledge of computers, especially experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiar with standard deliverables and work process on projects.
• Detail oriented, strong interpersonal, writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to effectively plan and organize own activities.
