Assistant Manager Syracuse Allied Health Management & Professional Full-time Opening on: Apr 27 2026 Sterile Processing State of New York TH Senior Staff Assistant, NSSL3 88993 UUP (State University Professional Services Unit) Job Summary The Sterile Processing Assistant Manager will be responsible for the management of the Sterile Processing Department, to include the day-to-day activities related to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, of sterile supplies to the Downtown OR. The Assistant Manager will develop a quality and safety improvement plan, work process standards, and performance goals to ensure optimal service delivery and patient care. Other responsibilities include staffing, training, performance management, and compliance. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree and 2 years Sterile Processing experience OR Associates Degree and 4 years Sterile Processing experience required. Must have 2 years supervisory or leadership experience and be a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST). Candidates without Registered Central Service Technician Certification must obtain within 18 months of appointment and will be on a temporary appointment until certification is received. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be organized, have excellent time management skills, and be computer proficient.
