Key Duties / Responsibilities:

• Work with operations, sales, and shop supervisors to plan on-time deliveries, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
• Work with operations, sales, and shop supervisors to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• Review MTRs to confirm specifications.
• Review & approve requisitions of materials needed.
• Coordinate with design and engineering to ensure viability of using specified materials and plans.
• Negotiate with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, mode of shipping, and delivery schedule.
• Select products for purchase by testing, observing or examining items if necessary.
• Prepare purchase orders or bid requests.
• Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
• Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
• Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with management to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
• Participate in the approval process for payment of invoices.
• Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.

Education

• High School Diploma
• Some college preferred

Experience / Skill

• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
• Fabrication Background
• Solid Industrial and Steel Purchasing Background
• Excellent communication abilities (verbal and written)
• Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word
• Attention to detail.
• Collaborative team player with a hands-on work ethic.
• Self-starter who can display independent judgement.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and within deadlines.
• MRP experience a plus
• Visual experience a plus

Compensation - Commensurate with experience
