Team OTR HazMat Company driver (W-2) Job in Ames, IA by HMD Trucking
$25 per hourHMD Trucking
Requirements
- 1 year of CDL-A OTR experience
- Hazmat endorsement
- No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years
- No more than 3 moving violations or 3 preventable accidents
- No excessive speeding (over 21 mph) in the last 3 years
- Must be above 23 years old at the time of applying
Benefits
- CPM $0.77 Split
- +$0.05 CPM Safety & productivity bonus split
- +$0.02 CPM Split when hauling hazmat
- Home time: 3 weeks out, 3 nights at home

- Empty Miles: Paid at the same CPM as loaded miles (company drivers only)
- Extra Stops: $50 per additional stop
- Detention Pay: $25 per hour after the first 2 hours
- Layover Pay: $175 for every 24 hours
- Orientation Pay: $150
Partner with an experienced driver to transport hazardous materials across the U.S. in HMD’s driver-first operation.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate late-model dry vans equipped with APUs, inverters, and sleepers
- Achieve weekly averages near 5,000 miles on Hazmat and dry van loads
- Uphold rigorous safety, compliance, and inspection standards
