The role leads large HVAC Controls construction projects, valued at $1M or more, requiring a seasoned construction professional to manage larger project complexities. Under general direction, you are responsible for the profitable execution of assigned projects, ensuring accurate, on‑time, and within‑budget delivery. You work with Owner and contractor sales managers, branch installation managers, and teams to provide early sales support. You ensure positive cash flow and actively pursue selling change orders. You maintain compliance with legal requirements and uphold the highest ethical standards. You adhere to consistent and repeatable project management procedures and maintain a balance between customer satisfaction and project financial results. How you will do it Act as the primary on‑site leader for execution teams on assigned projects and develop project schedules. Evaluate contractual scope, client bulletins, and scheduling changes; pursue additional work through change orders, prepare cost estimates, and negotiate final settlements. Manage costs, billings, and collections; complete timely and accurate client billings to maintain profitability and positive cash flow. Review and interpret contract terms and conditions. Analyze financial reporting systems and project schedules to proactively address potential problems; communicate progress, issues, and financial status to management. Use Microsoft Project to execute and evaluate job progress and risks. Manage risks and establish recovery plans when required; resolve disputes with minimal escalation. Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontracts. Ensure project document controls comply with contract requirements and JCI standards. Oversee construction compliance with specifications, local codes, and installation techniques. Manage selection, ordering, and delivery schedules of materials for projects. Develop long‑term relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors; attend job progress meetings as needed. What we look for Required 6 (six) years of direct project management experience in the Building Construction Industry. Experience with Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS management, Fire management, and Security management systems is desired. Expectation that PMI/PMP certification will be obtained within two years of employment. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical material to a non‑technical audience. Proficiency in Project Management software and financial accounting systems. Strong PC skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project), Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows environment. Able to execute projects of higher complexity with multiple subcontractors and scopes of work. Preferred Experience handling a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges across multiple disciplines. Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or an Associate’s Degree with equivalent experience. PMI/PMP Certification preferred. Compensation Hiring salary range: $100,000 - 150,000. Salary determined by education, experience, skills, and alignment with market data.
