Internal Medicine Physician - Live & Work Near Lake Houston | Summer Creek

Overview Explore opportunities with Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family of businesses. Our Internal Medicine physicians examine adult patients 18 years and older to ensure proper care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of various medical conditions. They order medically necessary tests, perform follow-up visits, and place referrals to specialists when needed. There is access to several sub-specialists, imaging, lab services, patient education and more within the Kelsey-Seybold system. EPIC electronic health record is used throughout our organization for patient care and collaboration across the system. At Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, you will see patients in office from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. Internal Medicine physicians are supported by nursing and administrative staff. Depending on your assigned call group, you will take periodic hospital calls admitting only Kelsey-Seybold patients. Typically, you are not required to stay overnight in hospitals and certain call groups have nocturnists managing admissions overnight. You will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive internal medicine care for adult patients 18 years and older. Order and interpret medically necessary tests and imaging as part of planning patient care. Conduct follow-up visits and place referrals to specialists when needed. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nursing and administrative staff, and use EPIC EHR for care coordination. Participate in hospital call duties as assigned by your call group (admitting only Kelsey-Seybold patients; some groups may have nocturnists). Maintain high standards for patient quality and satisfaction while contributing to lower total costs when appropriate. Qualifications Medical Degree (MD, DO) Accredited Residency training Licensed or willing to be licensed in the State of Texas Board Certified or Board Eligible Driver's License and access to reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency Compensation and Benefits Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $229,500 - $378,000. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
