Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Location unspecified. This position involves providing specialized critical care for acutely ill patients within the ICU setting. The RN functions both as a caregiver and care manager, overseeing patient care, delegating tasks, and coordinating with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of ICU procedures and the ability to make sound clinical judgments.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; current Washington State RN Licensure; Healthcare Provider (HCP) Level of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire, valid for two years; experience as an acute care registered nurse preferred, with a minimum of one year of RN experience preferred for specialty nursing departments. Skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care; critical thinking; accountability within legal and ethical guidelines; crisis management; competency in caring for patients across the age continuum; proficiency with department-specific equipment.
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization), and moderate sedation training, all to be obtained within specified timeframes and renewed as required. RN-C and continuing education requirements are also preferred.
• Additional Information: The position may require up to 24 hours of call-off at no cost during the assignment. The candidate must demonstrate physical stamina for frequent movement, lifting, and equipment management, as well as emotional stability to handle high-stress situations in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and professional appearance are essential. The candidate may also function as a Charge Nurse, coordinating patient assignments and staffing.
