Job Description

Working in the Cardiovascular operating room with surgeons to keep the operating room sterile

Execute proper use, care and handling of surgical equipment to ensure safety of operating staff and patient.

Be available to take call when required

Prepare patients including cleaning and disinfecting body areas for surgery

Participate in the care of patients receiving sedation and assist physician during procedures

Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings and monitor vital signs during procedures

Ensure that sterile procedures are followed throughout the course of surgery, necessary equipment and medications are available for the operating room team, record progress and outcomes of surgical procedures and ensure proper handling of specimens

Prepare timely and accurate records of patient history and recovery charts.

Monitoring the patients physical and emotional well being

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Job Info

Minimum of 2 years CVOR experience

Current ACLS & BLS

Must have current state nursing license

Travel experience a plus
