A Financial Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Controller - CLO Accounting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly and quarterly fund accounting and reporting, including financial results, investor allocations, and performance calculations.
- Review work prepared by fund administrators, including NAVs, investor statements, capital activity, and supporting schedules.
- Monitor fund cash activity, liquidity needs, expenses, and budgets to support investment and operating decisions.
- Review portfolio and accounting data, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of reconciliation items.
- Review management and performance fee calculations for accuracy.
- Respond to investor inquiries regarding fund reporting, account activity, and tax information.
- Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors on annual financial statements, tax reporting, and related requests.
- Partner with investment, investor relations, and other internal teams on reporting and special projects.
- Support applicable regulatory reporting and help improve accounting policies, processes, and controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 10–12 years of accounting or finance experience, including investment fund accounting and reporting.
- CPA required.
- Experience with credit investments preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal daily direction and take ownership of assigned objectives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and email.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with employees, management, and external partners to solve problems and deliver results.
