VVater is America's Next Water Company, delivering the future of purification through its award-winning Farady Reactor, proprietary ALTEP, Advanced Dissolved Air Flotation, and Micro & Nano Bubble technologies. Unlike outdated chemical, filter, and membrane systems, VVater's electric-field breakthroughs eliminate PFAS, microplastics, microorganisms, and other contaminants with record retention times, without toxic byproducts or costly consumables.

With over 4.3B gallons treated and validation from global leaders, VVater is scaling into municipal drinking water and wastewater, DPR/IPR, onsite reuse for data centers, commercial buildings, and resorts, residential purification, and consumer health water, delivering a 60% smaller footprint, 40% CapEx savings, 80% OpEx savings, and 40% less energy use.

This is an onsite position based in Austin, Texas. No remote or hybrid availability for this position.

VVater is looking for a Full Stack Engineer and Web Lead who lives in code, lives in AI, and owns our entire web presence end-to-end. This is a rare hybrid role. On one side, you build real software: we develop our own systems in-house, including MIDNIGHT, our custom-built ERP, and a growing stack of internal tools and applications. On the other side, you own and run VVater's websites, our SEO, and our visibility in the new world of AI-powered search.

We need someone who can architect and ship custom software fast, and who can just as easily manage a WordPress site, drive it up the search rankings, and make sure VVater shows up when someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or Google's AI Overviews about water treatment. You use modern AI and large language models as a core part of how you work. You can vibe-code a working solution in under a minute, then harden it into production.

You are a true Swiss Army knife: engineer, web developer, and modern search strategist in one. You do not wait for a spec to start building, and you do not reach for a bloated vendor product when you can build something better yourself.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, ship, and maintain custom software across the full stack, from database and backend to frontend
• Contribute to and extend MIDNIGHT, VVater's in-house ERP, and the broader ecosystem of internal applications
• Build internal tools, dashboards, portals, and applications that run and scale the business
• Develop and maintain APIs and integrations that connect VVater's systems into one seamless stack
• Own features end-to-end, from concept and architecture through deployment and iteration
• Use modern AI tools and large language models (Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, and whatever ships next) as a core part of how you build
• Vibe-code working solutions rapidly, then refine them into robust, production-grade software
• Build AI-powered features, agents, and automations into VVater's applications, website, and workflows
• Stay at the bleeding edge of AI-assisted development and continuously raise the bar for how fast and how well the team ships
• Own, manage, and continuously improve VVater's websites, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability
• Manage all technical aspects of the CMS, including the current WordPress environment (themes, plugins, and custom development)
• Modernize and evolve the web stack over time, migrating beyond WordPress to custom solutions where it makes sense
• Build high-performance, responsive, well-designed web interfaces, landing pages, and content delivery solutions
• Manage website content updates, ensuring fresh, accurate, on-brand content aligned with marketing strategy
• Ensure website security protocols and regular backups are in place
• Own and execute VVater's SEO strategy end-to-end: keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO, and link building
• Drive VVater's visibility in AI-powered and generative search (GEO, AEO, and LLM SEO), ensuring the brand surfaces and is cited by ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and other AI answer engines
• Run regular technical SEO audits and fix issues that affect rankings and crawlability
• Optimize site structure, content, and metadata for both traditional search and AI answer engines (schema, structured data, and machine-readable content)
• Design and implement effective content and backlinking strategies to build authority
• Manage and optimize PPC campaigns for reach and ROI
• Use tools such as SEMRush, Google Analytics, Moz, Meltwater, and modern AI-search tracking tools to monitor performance, analyze behavior, and surface insight
• Provide regular reporting on website, SEO, and AI-search performance to leadership
• Partner with marketing to align web, SEO, and AI-search strategy with digital campaigns
• Move fast, ship often, and iterate based on real data and real use
• Take on whatever technical problems need solving; this is a high-versatility, Swiss Army knife role
• Perform other engineering and web tasks and duties as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience (what you have built matters more than where you studied)
• Proven full stack development experience, with real applications you have designed, built, and shipped
• Strong command of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks) and of backend, database, and API development
• Proven WordPress development experience, including themes, plugins, and custom work
• Extensive hands-on experience building with AI tools and large language models (Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, or equivalents), with the ability to vibe-code working solutions in minutes
• Proven experience implementing and managing SEO strategies, with a strong grasp of technical SEO
• Understanding of AI-powered and generative search optimization (GEO / AEO / LLM SEO), or a demonstrated ability to master it fast
• Fluency with a modern programming language such as Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, and comfort learning whatever a problem requires
• Familiarity with SEO and analytics tools (SEMRush, Google Analytics, Moz, Meltwater, or similar)
• Strong database skills (SQL and/or NoSQL)
• Experience with responsive and adaptive design
• A builder's bias for action; you ship fast and iterate rather than waiting for perfect specs
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to own and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building or extending ERP, CRM, CPQ, or other business-critical internal systems
• Strong UX/UI design sensibility; ability to build interfaces that look and feel great
• Experience modernizing or migrating legacy platforms (for example, moving off WordPress to a custom stack)
• Demonstrated results driving brand visibility in AI answer engines and generative search
• Knowledge of PPC campaign management
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and CI/CD workflows
• A portfolio, GitHub, or real examples of applications, websites, tools, or SEO results you have personally delivered
