Job Description

• This role focuses on installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining avionics and electrical systems on helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. You will work hands-on with wiring, antennas, and avionics components, supporting both basic and more complex installations while ensuring all work meets aviation standards and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install basic avionics and electrical systems on aircraft in accordance with standard aviation practices.
• Assist technicians with more complex avionics installation tasks and modifications.
• Disassemble and reassemble aircraft interiors as directed to facilitate avionics installation or repairs.
• Perform light sheet metal fabrication as directed to support avionics installation or repair activities.
• Assist in creating and interpreting wiring harness maps or mock-ups to support accurate installations.
• Fabricate and install wiring harnesses, ensuring proper routing, protection, and termination.
• Install antennas and related components, ensuring correct placement, alignment, and secure mounting.
• Install coaxial cables and verify proper connections for avionics and communication systems.
• Complete or assist with OHM (ohm) checks and power checks to validate electrical continuity and system integrity.
• Complete or assist with ground checks of avionics systems to confirm correct operation prior to flight.
• Terminate wires using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring secure and reliable connections.
• Use wiring schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to guide installation and troubleshooting tasks.
• Support avionics troubleshooting and testing activities on Bell helicopters and Airbus aircraft.
• Assist with aircraft inspection tasks related to avionics and electrical systems as needed.
• Apply proper soldering techniques for avionics wiring and component connections where required.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience working with avionics systems.
• Hands-on experience with avionics installation, including wiring harness fabrication and installation.
• Proficiency in standard aircraft wiring practices and techniques.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and wiring schematics.
• Experience with avionics troubleshooting, testing, and aircraft inspection related to avionics systems.
• Knowledge of electrical components used in aviation and their proper application.
• Skill in light sheet metal fabrication to support avionics installations and repairs.
• Experience with antenna and coaxial cable installations for avionics and communication systems.
• Ability to perform OHM (ohm) checks, power checks, and ground checks on avionics systems.
• Proficiency in soldering techniques for aviation wiring and electrical connections.
• Experience working with helicopter avionics, particularly on Bell helicopters and Airbus aircraft.
• Ability to install, test, and troubleshoot avionics systems in an aviation environment.

Work Environment

• You will work in a large hangar environment alongside a team of approximately 45 employees, supporting avionics work on Bell helicopters and Airbus aircraft. The setting involves hands-on work around aircraft, avionics systems, wiring, and electrical components, with frequent use of tools and equipment for installation, testing, and troubleshooting. The role requires working in an active maintenance and installation facility, where safety, precision, and adherence to aviation standards are central to the daily operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Pleasant, PA.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $48.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
