If you are a proven leader in warehouse management, inventory control, process management, work-shift coordination, and are organized with great communication skills, this is the position for you!The Department Manager must be shift flexible. The candidate selected could be assigned to a day shift, mid shift, or night shiftResponsibilities: Directly oversee daily warehouse operations and associates in your assigned functional area according to business needsManage and lead associates effectively to build an engaged, high-performing teamSupervise and coordinate accuracy and timeliness for both product handling and paperwork within your area of responsibilityEnsure warehouse space is used effectively and maintained in a clean, orderly conditionProvide guidance and direction to team members on proper operating proceduresCommunicate with clerks, headquarters, drivers, and relevant stakeholders regarding shipment status and schedule changesResearch and resolve issues involving purchase orders and shipping/receiving documentationEnsure that all documentation, freight claims, and correspondence with HQ are promptly completed with attention to detailPromote safe work practices and resolve all safety concerns as identifiedEstablish and communicate performance standards to associatesLead team in continuous improvement initiativesConduct counseling, mentoring, and performance appraisals as indicatedProvide recommendations for selection of new associates to join the teamParticipate in regular communication and meetings of DC leadership to coordinate shift activitiesData driven decision makingWill be dedicated to a specific shift and needs the ability to occasionally work cross-functionally on other shiftsQualifications: 5+ years’ management experience in a warehouse or distribution center environmentSupply chain distribution experience preferred but not requiredWMS and LMS experience requiredStrong understanding of OSHA regulationsWillingness to adapt schedule and assist on other shifts based on operational needsBachelor’s Degree preferredLeadership and interpersonal skillsGood judgment and decision-making abilitiesAt Ferguson, we care for each other.
