The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) is an intuitive, user-friendly system that provides the applicant access to real-time updates throughout the hiring process. Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:


a. Demonstrated and strong knowledge of general (e.g. GAAP, GASB) and governmental accounting principles and theories, of business law, of various control agencies, and regulations listed in the State Administrative Manual pertaining to accounting and budgeting.

b. Experience in reconciliations, preparation and review/audit of financial information, including the ability to perform calculations (computations), interpret data and provide recommendations to management and staff.

c. Ability to provide oral presentations, formal and informal training to others regarding financial and accounting information to groups of varying levels of understanding.

d. Experience regarding extracting and interpreting technical and non-technical instructions, data and documents of varying complexity.

e. Ability to be flexible to changes in priorities and assignments, apply project management principles to work assignments and work under critical timelines.

f. Extensive experience with computer applications particularly Microsoft software and knowledge of enterprise software.

g. Ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with the needs, problems, and/or concerns of other staff, stakeholders and/or the public.
