Senior Accountant

A client of ours is looking a Senior Accountant for a contract role to join their growing accounting team. This role will play a key part in the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working within a complex corporate accounting environment and be proficient with SAP and BlackLine.

Responsibilities of Senior Accountant

• Execute and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances across multiple entities.
• Perform lease accounting activities and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and unusual transactions.
• Utilize SAP for general ledger, reporting, and financial analysis activities.
• Leverage BlackLine for account reconciliations, transaction matching, and close management processes.
• Support internal and external audit requests by providing required documentation and analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.
• Collaborate with finance and operational teams on accounting-related initiatives and projects.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.

Skills/Qualifications of Senior Accountant

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of month-end close processes and general ledger accounting.
• Experience managing intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and consolidations.
• Knowledge of lease accounting standards and related accounting treatments.
• Hands-on experience with SAP required.
• Experience using BlackLine for account reconciliations and close management preferred.
• Strong financial reporting and account reconciliation experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
• Knowledge of internal controls and accounting best practices.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to partner across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• CPA or CPA-track preferred.
