Through culturally responsive care, evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community partnerships, CRHE seeks to improve behavioral health outcomes while addressing the social and structural factors influencing health and recovery.CRHE is committed to developing an exceptional behavioral health workforce through structured supervision, mentorship, professional development, and continuous quality improvement.Position SummaryThe Clinical Supervisor provides clinical leadership, supervision, consultation, and professional mentorship to Counselor I staff, Counselor II staff, Graduate Practicum Students, and provisionally licensed clinicians while maintaining a reduced direct clinical caseload.The Clinical Supervisor promotes high-quality, evidence-based behavioral healthcare by ensuring clinical services are delivered in accordance with CRHE policies, Delaware Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH) regulations, applicable licensing standards, and professional ethical principles.The Clinical Supervisor serves as a clinical resource to the interdisciplinary treatment team by supporting diagnostic formulation, treatment planning, crisis consultation, documentation quality, professional development, and implementation of evidence-based practices.Regulatory ClassificationThis position is established in accordance with applicable Delaware Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH) regulations governing Clinical Supervisors within licensed substance use disorder treatment facilities.CRHE hiring standards exceed the minimum DSAMH qualifications based upon the complexity of integrated behavioral healthcare services provided and the organization's commitment to workforce excellence.Essential FunctionsThe Clinical Supervisor provides direct supervision, consultation, leadership, and clinical services.Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Clinical SupervisionProvide a minimum of one (1) hour of face-to-face clinical supervision per week for each assigned Counselor I and Counselor II, consistent with CRHE policy and DSAMH regulations. Provide supervision to Graduate Practicum Students in accordance with university affiliation agreements and CRHE policies. Provide supervision to provisionally licensed clinicians when approved by CRHE. Promote development of clinical reasoning, ethical decision-making, and professional identity. Review challenging clinical cases and provide treatment recommendations. Monitor professional development goals for assigned supervisees. Clinical LeadershipServe as a clinical resource for interdisciplinary staff. Facilitate case consultation meetings. Assist with diagnostic clarification. Support treatment planning. Provide consultation regarding crisis intervention and risk management. Promote implementation of evidence-based behavioral health practices. Assist leadership with clinical program development. Documentation ReviewReview documentation completed by supervised clinicians for:Clinical accuracy Completeness Medical necessity Regulatory compliance Documentation quality Professional writing Provide timely feedback and corrective guidance as appropriate.Documentation review activities shall be maintained in accordance with DSAMH regulations and CRHE policy.Direct Clinical ServicesMaintain a reduced clinical caseload providing:Comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments Individual psychotherapy Family therapy Couples therapy Group psychotherapy Crisis intervention Treatment planning Care coordination Discharge planning Clinical caseload expectations shall reflect supervisory responsibilities and organizational priorities.Integrated Behavioral HealthcareCollaborate with:Licensed Clinicians Counselor I staff Counselor II staff Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners Case Managers Peer Recovery Specialists Primary Care Providers Hospitals Community Behavioral Health Providers Referral Partners to ensure coordinated, recovery-oriented behavioral healthcare.Quality ImprovementParticipate in:Clinical quality improvement initiatives Chart audits Documentation review Policy implementation Clinical education Staff mentoring Performance improvement activities Program evaluation Support implementation of organizational quality standards.Documentation ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical Supervisor is responsible for maintaining accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate documentation including:Clinical supervision documentation. Documentation review records. Progress notes. Treatment plans. Clinical consultation notes. Performance feedback. Corrective action documentation, when applicable. Quality improvement activities. Clinical correspondence. Direct service documentation. Other documentation required by CRHE and applicable regulatory agencies. Caseload ExpectationsClinical Supervisors maintain a reduced clinical caseload in recognition of supervisory responsibilities.Caseload expectations are determined based upon:Number of assigned supervisees. Clinical complexity. Program assignment. Organizational priorities. Referral volume. Quality improvement responsibilities. Clinical supervision responsibilities shall take priority when necessary to maintain compliance with CRHE policy and applicable DSAMH regulations.Quality Improvement & ComplianceClinical Supervisors are expected to:Ensure supervisees comply with CRHE policies and procedures. Monitor clinical documentation quality. Participate in peer review activities. Support accreditation and regulatory readiness. Promote ethical practice. Report critical incidents and client safety concerns. Participate in leadership meetings. Maintain compliance with Delaware law, DSAMH regulations, and applicable professional standards. Minimum QualificationsDSAMH Regulatory RequirementsApplicants shall meet at least one of the following requirements:A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or another related field and current certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP) in the State of Delaware or through a nationally recognized addictions credentialing organization; or A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or another related field and a minimum of five (5) years of documented clinical experience in the substance use disorder treatment field. Preferred QualificationsCRHE Hiring PreferencesCRHE strongly prefers applicants who possess:Master's degree from an accredited college or university in: Clinical Mental Health Counseling Counseling Social Work Marriage and Family Therapy or another related behavioral health discipline. Current provisional or independent professional licensure in Delaware as an LPCMH or LCSW (independent licensure preferred). Current certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP) through the Delaware Certification Board or another nationally recognized credentialing organization. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible clinical experience treating adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision, mentoring, or training. Working knowledge of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria. Experience facilitating interdisciplinary treatment team meetings. Experience utilizing electronic health record systems. Pennsylvania licensure preferred for future organizational expansion.
