About the team The Customer Data Platform team at Walmart develops scalable, reliable technology to enhance shopping experiences worldwide. Collaborating across functions, members drive innovation through iterative development, code review, and continuous improvement. What you'll do Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines and architectures to support business analytics and operational needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical data solutions. Implement data integration, transformation, and quality frameworks using modern ETL and streaming technologies. Ensure data governance compliance by applying regulatory and ethical standards in data handling and storage. Utilize cloud platforms and big data tools to automate data workflows and improve processing efficiency. Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to maintain reliability and performance. Provide technical guidance on data modeling, storage, and metadata management best practices. What you'll bring Proven expertise in data engineering, including designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines. Proficiency in Python programming and experience with ETL processes and big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hive, and Kafka. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud, and modern data warehousing solutions. Experience implementing data quality frameworks and ensuring compliance with data governance and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automated deployment in data environments Solid understanding of data modeling techniques and metadata management across data platforms. Stock Minimum Qualifications Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related field. Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related field. Option 3: Master's degree in Computer Science and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field. 3 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics. Preferred Qualifications Data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics, ETL tools and working with large data sets in the cloud, Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
