American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery (LDRP) position in Georgetown, TX, requiring at least 1 year of recent L&D or postpartum experience and certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM.
Job Details • LDRP unit located on the 4th floor of a hospital in Georgetown, TX,• Unit includes 12 LDR rooms, 11 postpartum/mother-baby rooms, a 2-bed triage, 2 OB EDs, an 8-bed Special Care Nursery (SCN), and a 1-bed isolation nursery,
• Patient population includes laboring patients, postpartum couplets, and special care/medium-risk neonates,
• Labor patient ratio is 1:2 (higher acuity may vary); postpartum couplet ratio is ideally 1:3, with a max of 1:4 (8 patients individually),
• Night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM),
• Weekend rotation required (approximately every other weekend),
• No on-call required for staff RNs,
• Equipment includes Alaris Pumps, Giraffe Warmers, GE Fetal Monitors, Monica wireless monitoring, Giraffe Isolette, and US/TOCO cords,
• EMR: GE Centricity/CPN and Meditech,
• 13-week contract, Job Requirements • Active TX RN license or compact RN license required,
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment),
• NRP Advanced 9th Edition (American Academy of Pediatrics card) required,
• Fetal monitoring certification required: intermediate or advanced AWHONN, or NCCEFM,
• Minimum 1 year of recent L&D or postpartum experience required,
• LDRP experience (mother-baby, postpartum, OR circulator for C-sections, well-baby nursery, NICU, or SCN) preferred,
• NICU or transition/baby-catching experience a plus,
• STABLE certification optional,
• SSN and DOB required for consideration,
• One professional reference required,
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months, Additional Information • Procedures performed on unit include cervical ripening, induction of labor (Pitocin), MgSO4, insulin drips, C-sections, tubal ligations, cerclage removals, and care of fetal demise patients,
• High-risk/Level II maternal patients are followed by MFM,
• Navy blue scrubs are required; travelers do not need the stork embroidery,
• Unit has been recognized as a 2022 HCA Unit of Distinction nominee and holds the highest nurse and physician engagement scores in the Austin market for women's services,
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted,
• First-time travelers are not explicitly noted as accepted or excluded
