Research Scientist

Position Overview Leidos’ Defense Sensors - RF Systems Portfolio seeks a Research Scientist with software development experience to support advanced radar systems research and development through high‑fidelity modeling and simulation. Primary Responsibilities Support M&S configuration, testing, and data analysis activities for radar and weapon systems to determine performance capabilities. Demonstrate strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills to support analysis products and presentations. Work with a team to find solutions to novel, complex, and non‑traditional questions. Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or related technical degree from an ABET‑accredited institution plus 8‑12 years of relevant experience, or Master of Science with 6‑10 years of relevant experience. Doctorate degrees in a relevant technical area are welcome. Demonstrated ability to analyze data sets and present meaningful insights and statistically relevant findings. Proficiency in computer programming and related tools (Python, MATLAB, C++, etc.). U.S. citizen with the ability to maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance. Resident of Huntsville, AL, or willing to relocate. Preferred Qualifications Experience in radar/air defense systems M&S. Master of Science in a related technical field from an ABET‑accredited institution. Experience working in a Linux operating environment. 4+ years of software development and/or integration activities. Background in C++ development.
