GUITAR INSTRUCTOR – SCHOOL OF ROCK
School of Rock is more than a music school—we’re a community of musicians, teachers, performers, and families who believe music can change lives. With more than 425 schools worldwide, we’re the largest after-school music education provider in the world. We put on shows to teach music.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Guitar Instructor, you'll teach private lessons, support rehearsals, and help prepare students for live performances. You'll teach more than songs, you'll help students develop guitar technique, musicianship, confidence, and the skills to become better performers.

• Deliver engaging, high-quality guitar instruction tailored to each student.
• Teach guitar technique, music theory, and fundamental musicianship—not just songs.
• Create thoughtful lesson plans based on each student's ability and goals.
• Prepare students for rehearsals, shows, and other performance opportunities.
• Communicate regularly with students and parents about progress and goals.
• Build positive relationships with students and families and be an active part of the school community.
• Assist with rehearsals, performances, and the overall operation of the school.
• Follow School of Rock's Code of Conduct, safety policies, and supervision requirements.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of professional music teaching and/or performance experience (combined)
• Strong guitar ability and knowledge of guitar technique.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum development.
• A genuine passion for teaching and helping students grow.
• Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• The ability to connect with students of different ages, personalities, and skill levels.
• Enthusiastic, patient, flexible, positive, and professional.
• Resourceful, dependable, and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability for part-time work, including some weekend daytime hours.

MOST IMPORTANTLY
We’re looking for someone who believes music education should be exciting. Someone who can walk into a lesson and make a student want to pick up the guitar. Someone who understands that performing isn't just about getting the notes right. It's about confidence, connection, creativity, and having an experience they'll remember.

If you love music, love teaching, and want to help create the next generation of musicians, we’d love to hear from you.
