Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Stepdown Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/30/2026 Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Position / Title: IMC/PCU/Stepdown - RN Facility Name: Monument Health Rapid City Hospital Location: 353 Fairmont Blvd, Rapid City, SD 57701 VMS Req ID / Job ID: 372356 / Job ID: 878117 Target Start Date: 11/09/2026 (13-week contract) Shift Details: Days (Clinical Interview Unit) What the Facility Wants (Requirements & Expectations) Experience & Qualifications Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience required (candidates with less than 1.5 years require manager approval). First-time travelers accepted if they have greater than 2 years of overall experience. License & Certifications: Active South Dakota (or compact) RN license. Required certifications: BLS and ACLS . Radius & Distance Rules: Strict 100-mile radius restriction from any Monument Health facility (travelers must live at least 100 miles away). Previous permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler. Clinical & Unit Overview Unit Details: 56-bed PCU/Tele unit. Patient ratios are 1:4 for PCU/Tele and 1:5 for Med/Surg (Days and Nights). Supported by CNAs (1:8 ratio) and 24/7 free-floating charge nurses, phlebotomy, and RT. Required Skills: Cardiac and vasoactive drip titration (Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Levophed up to 5 mcg, etc.), cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, blood product administration, CIWA, and chest tube management. Charting System & Equipment: Epic preferred, Alaris, and Omnicell.
