Vice President of Precision Medicine & Biomarkers About the Company Esteemed life sciences company Industry Biotechnology Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is in search of a Vice President of Precision Medicine and Biomarkers to lead the development and execution of clinical translational, clinical biomarker, and companion diagnostic strategies. The successful candidate will be a key representative of this function on the executive leadership team, responsible for both internal and external communication of the biomarker strategy. This role demands a high level of credibility, confidence, and effective collaboration, as the VP will work closely with the executive management team to align biomarker initiatives with the company's goals. Responsibilities also include overseeing and mentoring a team, projecting resources and budgets, and ensuring that all strategies meet regulatory requirements. Applicants for the Vice President position must have a PhD or MD/PhD, with a preference for a background in Immunology, and proven leadership experience in biomarker discovery, precision medicine, or translational research, particularly in the context of cancer immunotherapy. The role requires a candidate who has advanced multiple clinical candidates and has experience with IND filings and regulatory interactions. Exceptional leadership and team management skills are essential, as is experience with precision oncology and biomarker teams in a large pharma or small biotech setting. Familiarity with the dynamics of small biotech companies and experience in the development and regulatory strategies for companion diagnostics are highly valued. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of leading the identification and validation of novel biomarkers and associated assays using cutting-edge technologies.
