This position provides the opportunity to join in on the cutting edge of nuclear technology while supporting the US Navy and impacting the next Naval reactor plant design. Specific work items include: Analysis to support component/system design and early procedure developmentDevelopment of protective features to improve operability, cost, and thermal performance margin for the next reactor designDevelopment of a reactor plant model to support early design studiesApplicants should have good communication and writing skills, be dedicated to delivering high-quality technical work products, and have completed coursework in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid flow.
