Associate/AVP, Credit Risk (C&I and CRE)

Title: Associate/AVP, Credit Risk (C&I and CRE) Location: Tampa, FL - Hybrid Job Summary The individual will be responsible for conducting independent credit risk assessments across a diversified banking loan portfolio. Reviewable portfolios include Commercial Lending (CRE, REIT, and C&I), Private Banking, and Shared National Credits (SNCs). Responsibilities include evaluating loans identified through ongoing portfolio monitoring activities and risk-based review processes. Each credit review will assess adherence to internal underwriting standards, credit policies, procedures, regulatory expectations, and documentation requirements. This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence three days per week. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop quantitative and qualitative analyses to assess portfolio-level credit risk trends and exposures. Perform independent loan reviews to evaluate borrower creditworthiness and overall transaction risk. Analyze financial statements, cash flow performance, collateral coverage, covenant compliance, and other credit data to assess the appropriateness of assigned risk ratings and timely identification of credit deterioration. Evaluate compliance with internal credit policies, underwriting standards, and applicable regulatory guidance. Partner with lending teams and credit management to discuss identified weaknesses, exceptions, or deficiencies, including remediation plans and timelines. Assist in preparing portfolio review reports summarizing asset quality trends, key risk findings, and recommended corrective actions. Maintain a strong understanding of evolving credit risk practices, regulatory expectations, and industry trends to support continuous improvement of review methodologies and processes. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong credit analysis experience within commercial banking, including exposure to CRE, REIT, C&I, and/or private banking portfolios. Experience reviewing complex lending structures such as residential mortgages, securities-based lending, structured lending, or syndicated/shared national credits is preferred. Strong financial statement analysis skills, including understanding of balance sheet, income statement, liquidity, leverage, and cash flow metrics. Experience evaluating or assigning internal risk ratings and identifying emerging credit issues. Knowledge of banking regulations, credit risk management practices, and loan classification frameworks. Familiarity with commercial lending policies, credit documentation, and regulatory expectations. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders across lending, credit, and management teams. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple reviews and competing priorities efficiently.
