Through landmark initiatives like the Integrated Waste Management Act and Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act, California works toward a society that uses less, recycles more, and takes resource conservation to higher levels. CalRecycle’s mission is to protect California’s environment and climate by reducing, reusing, and recycling California resources, providing environmental education, and aiding in disaster recovery while transitioning from a disposable to a fully circular economy. Job Description and Duties CalRecycle is looking for a leader to work in a cross‑divisional team to help implement Senate Bill 54, which regulates the use of single‑use plastics in California. The unit will be responsible for implementing the SB54 enforcement program. The position requires a valid California Driver’s License (CDL). Employees may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Beginning July 1, 2026, the position is anticipated to be office‑centered with employees expected to report to the office at least four days per week.
