Craftsmanship Engineer

Our client, a leader in the automotive and transportation industry, is seeking a Craftsmanship Engineer to join their team. As a Craftsmanship Engineer, you will be part of the Vehicle Development department supporting Geometric Integration & Packaging teams. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for quality and innovation, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Craftsmanship Engineer

Location:  Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $90/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

• Lead cross-functional activities to embed craftsmanship requirements as a proactive driver in product development from early phases.
• Collaborate with design, dimensional engineering, product development, manufacturing, supplier quality, and HMI teams to define vehicle-level craftsmanship targets.
• Develop documentation for defining and tracking craftsmanship targets, measurement tools, and artifacts.
• Participate in development of Grey-Zone, Cabin scent, Ambient Lighting, NVH targets, Active Sounds, and Color & Trim Development.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to elevate brand perception and user trust throughout the product lifecycle.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 10 years of Craftsmanship Engineering experience in automotive or transport industry.
• At least 5 years of experience chairing forums and navigating key decisions in the industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Product Design or Engineering discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of visual, tactile, olfactory, auditory, and functional quality standards.
