This position involves the application of specialized cleaning, polishing, and restoration techniques to ensure floors meet high standards of cleanliness and aesthetic appeal. The Floor Technician will be responsible for assessing floor conditions, selecting appropriate treatment methods, and operating equipment safely and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to delivering quality results that contribute to a positive environment for clients and visitors. Ultimately, the Floor Technician helps preserve the value of flooring assets while supporting overall facility maintenance goals.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in floor maintenance or a related field.Ability to operate floor care equipment safely.Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their proper use.Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.Preferred QualificationsCertification in floor care or maintenance (e.g., ISSA CIMS, OSHA safety training).Experience with a variety of flooring types including hardwood, tile, vinyl, and carpet.Familiarity with environmentally friendly cleaning products and techniques.Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.Valid driver's license for travel between job sites.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and deep cleaning of floors using appropriate machines and cleaning agents.Apply floor finishes, sealants, and coatings to protect and enhance floor surfaces.Inspect floors for damage or wear and recommend repair or restoration as needed.Operate floor maintenance equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and polishers safely and effectively.Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.Communicate with supervisors and clients regarding floor conditions and maintenance schedules.The Floor Technician utilizes technical skills daily to operate specialized floor care equipment and apply appropriate cleaning and finishing products effectively. Attention to detail is essential to identify floor imperfections and ensure thorough cleaning and restoration. Physical stamina and manual dexterity are required to perform repetitive tasks and handle equipment safely. Communication skills enable the technician to coordinate with supervisors and clients, ensuring expectations are met and any issues are promptly addressed. Additionally, knowledge of safety standards and chemical handling is critical to maintain a safe work environment and comply with regulatory requirements.Full-time, Monday through Friday 7am-3pm, every other weekend. The schedule will include one day off before the weekend worked and one day off after the weekend worked.
