The Dining Host fosters an enjoyable, casual dining experience while providing quality customer service and addressing dining-related concerns or matters requiring attention.

• Ensures residents, staff, visitors, and guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality customer service
• Coordinates the reservation system to maintain proper timing of reservations (*CF)
• Contacts residents, as needed, to review menu options. Receives food orders for to-go and takeout meals and coordinates all delivery and pick-up (*CF)
• Makes sure that the dining room is free of potential hazards to residents, including stowing all walkers and other ambulatory devices in the proper location (*CF)
• Rounds the Dining Room to assist the wait staff while promoting a pleasurable experience for all guests
• Assists the Wait Staff, when necessary, with taking food orders, waiting on tables, and lending a hand where needed to enhance the dining experience
• Follows all emergency procedures and proper evacuation of the Dining Room
• Maintains proper hygiene while serving, to include wearing gloves and washing hands when needed
• Must be able to work evening shifts, to include a day on the weekend, as standard schedule
• Completes all required training and in-services
• All other duties as assigned

• Possesses basic food handling skills and food safety knowledge

• Demonstrates maturity in judgment and behaviors
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Maintains predictable and reliable attendance, wearing the appropriate uniform as assigned

1. High school graduate or HSE preferred
2. Prior experience preferred
3. Basic computer skills required
4. Able to write legibly, takes oral and written instructions well
5. Has demonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the elderly or geriatric population
