MRI Technologist

$1,246 weekly stipends $34/hour $1,360 weekly base pay Onsite Contract Starts 6/29/2026 13 weeks 8 hours/day 5 days/week Job Summary Operates magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patient body for diagnostic purposes. Job Responsibilities Performs MRI examinations according to department policy and protocols. Prepares and positions patients for MRI procedures of various parts of the body. Positions equipment (coils, monitoring devices, etc.) and the patient to provide the best demonstration of the studied body part. Performs quality control tests on department equipment and reports discrepancies. Collects and evaluates relevant examination information from scheduling, patients, and referring physicians. Maintains departmental records and patient information in accordance with policy. Responds to patient physical and psychological needs and keeps patients informed. Explains all procedures clearly and concisely to reduce anxiety. Answers patient questions with patience and courtesy. Performs safety procedures for outpatients, inpatients, patient families, and hospital staff. Screens patients and personnel for metal objects or implants that could harm the patient or equipment. Ensures no patient/visitor/healthcare worker enters the scan room with metal objects or contraindicated implants. Evaluates results of scanning procedure for quality and completeness. Manipulates images using console keyboard and mouse to display to the physician. Uses terminal to select all image display options. Recognizes problems and rectifies appropriately. Sends images to PACS system, evaluates exams for completeness, and verifies exams in a timely manner. Develops a working knowledge of all PACS capabilities. Maintains accurate documentation on logbook worksheet and charges for examination and supplies. Seeks advice from appropriate resources when unsure of protocol or policy. Uses independent judgment in planning operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Interacts with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Interacts with external customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and staff. Required Skills & Experience Zero (0) to six (6) months of related experience. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently. Preferred Skills & Experience None. Required Education Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program or an MRI accredited program. Preferred Education None. Required Certification & Licensure Registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT). BLS. Preferred Certification & Licensure ARRT (MR).
