Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for leading strategic procurement initiatives, contract administration, supplier performance, and purchasing operations to support organizational objectives. This role oversees procurement planning, supplier risk management, contract execution, and cross-functional coordination to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and applicable procurement regulation s. The Procurement Specialist serves as a key advisor to leadership, providing oversight of procurement activities, managing complex purchasing initiatives, mitigating supplier risks, and ensuring operational continuity through effective planning and execution Lead and oversee procurement activities from planning through contract award and completion. Develop procurement strategies that support organizational goals, budgets, and operational priorities Manage complex purchasing initiatives and ensure compliance with procurement policies and applicable regulations. Coordinate procurement activities across multiple departments to support organizational needs Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods and services. Monitor supplier performance and develop corrective action plans when performance issues arise. Lead supplier negotiations, contract administration, and contract renewals. Evaluate supplier capabilities and mitigate procurement risks through proactive planning. Ensure procurement documentation is complete and audit-ready Procurement Operations Oversee purchasing schedules, procurement timelines, and project readiness. Monitor purchasing activities to identify risks, delays, and supply chain disruptions. Coordinate procurement priorities to support critical organizational initiatives. Review procurement requests, specifications, and scopes of work for completeness and compliance. Analyze purchasing data and recommend process improvements and cost-saving opportunities Identify procurement and supplier risks that may impact organizational operations. Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve procurement challenges. Develop contingency plans to minimize operational disruptions. Escalate significant procurement issues to executive leadership with recommended solutions. Ensure timely resolution of supplier performance concerns Project & Stakeholder Coordination Coordinate procurement activities with Finance, Operations, Facilities, Engineering, and other internal departments. Serve as the primary procurement resource for cross-functional projects. Facilitate meetings with internal stakeholders and vendors to monitor procurement progress. Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership regarding procurement performance and supplier status. Foster collaboration between internal departments and external vendors Process Improvement Develop standardized procurement procedures and best practices. Improve procurement workflows through process optimization and performance metrics. Maintain procurement reporting systems and dashboards. Support continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen supplier performance. Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Public Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
