Advancing Public Health: Dedicated Dental Hygienist for Correctional Care
The Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a professional and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential oral health services to incarcerated individuals, focusing on preventative care, patient education, and clinical excellence. Joining the DOC means becoming part of a diverse workforce dedicated to rehabilitative goals and the overall health of the community.Perform comprehensive oral prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing.
Administer fluoride treatments and apply sealants as directed. Conduct oral health screenings and assist the dentist with charting and documentation. Provide individualized patient education on oral hygiene and preventative techniques. Maintain a sterile and organized workspace, ensuring all instruments are properly processed. Adhere to strict safety and security protocols unique to the correctional environment. Collaborate with the broader facility healthcare team to coordinate patient care.Licensure: A valid and unrestricted license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Ethics: High standards of professional conduct and clinical integrity. Adaptability: Ability to work effectively within a secure correctional facility. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse patient population and multidisciplinary staff.Experience: Prior experience in public health, community clinics, or correctional dentistry.
