Operations ManagerLocation: South Jordan, UTCompensation: $75,000 per yearPosition Type: Full-TimeAbout the RoleExpress Employment Professionals is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager for a premier manufacturing facility in South Jordan, Utah. This leadership role oversees daily production, quality, maintenance coordination, safety, and continuous improvement across specialized digital printing and shrink sleeve operations. The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader who can effectively develop teams, improve production performance, and ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and customer delivery goals are consistently met.What You'll DoProduction & OperationsLead daily production across digital printing and shrink sleeve operations.Manage production schedules, staffing priorities, workflow, and equipment utilization.Monitor KPIs including OEE, throughput, scrap, downtime, efficiency, and on-time completion.Identify production issues and implement corrective actions to improve performance.Coordinate changeovers, preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and reliability initiatives.Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop production leads, technicians, and operators.Establish clear expectations for performance, accountability, safety, and teamwork.Support onboarding, employee training, and cross-training across production processes.Quality & Continuous ImprovementPartner with Quality to ensure decorated cans meet customer specifications and quality standards.Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring quality or production issues.Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce waste.Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance on process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new technology.Safety & Cross-Functional SupportMaintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with applicable OSHA and environmental requirements.Ensure proper handling and disposal of inks, chemicals, and regulated manufacturing waste.Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Graphics, Logistics, Inventory, Quality, and Maintenance to align production with customer needs.Support pilot runs, R&D projects, and new product launches.What We're Looking ForMinimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, production management, or plant operations.Proven experience leading production teams in a manufacturing environment.Industry experience in packaging, printing, beverage manufacturing, aluminum can decorating, or high-volume production is strongly preferred.Technical knowledge of digital printing and/or shrink sleeve application processes is considered a strong asset.KPI Management experience tracking metrics such as OEE, scrap, downtime, throughput, and efficiency.Continuous Improvement expertise using Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or other structured methods.Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and decision-making abilities.Knowledge of OSHA requirements and manufacturing safety practices.Hands-on, accountable attitude with a comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
