Speech Language Pathologist

Speech Pathology Position

Academics West is seeking a speech pathologist to work as a consultant with our K-12 students who exhibit mild to moderate learning challenges and social emotional needs.

Experience with special education students (LD/ADHD/ASD) required to be considered. We pride ourselves on cultivating a collaborative and supportive work environment. This is a great opportunity for someone to collaborate with an outstanding academic and clinical team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and classroom push in speech therapy to our students in our school setting
• Write progress notes on each student with appropriate treatment goals.
• Consult with a multi-disciplinary team to support students related to SLP needs.
• Collaborate to develop curriculum planning for executive functioning and social skills classes
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and participate in meetings as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must have TSSLD
• Experience or strong interest in treating students at the elementary and secondary school level
• Completed Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent

Hours:

• Flexible but during school day
• Preference given to 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM
• 3 days a week

Located in the heart of Lincoln Center-NYC, Academics West is a high-support college preparatory program that services up to 80 students from kindergarten through 12th grade who exhibit social emotional challenges and/or learning differences. Our small student-to-teacher ratio (typically 5:1:1 but can be slightly higher) allows us to work more intensively with students, achieving positive outcomes. Clinically Informed Academics (CIA) is an approach infused throughout the curriculum that considers the whole student to formulate effective individualized learning strategies. This approach combines clinical knowledge with academic interventions to help students improve beyond what traditional methods can achieve. Compensation: $500.00 - $600.00 per day. Academics West is an independent high-support college preparatory program that provides customized educational and social-emotional support for students who need an intimate and nurturing environment.
