Position Overview


As the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room, you will be accountable for the overall management and leadership of the unit. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care and the administrative oversight of the department on a 24-hour basis. You will be instrumental in managing a team of skilled clinicians, maintaining a safe and efficient surgical environment, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and professional standards. This role requires a blend of strong clinical expertise and proven leadership ability.


Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive leadership and oversight for all clinical and operational activities within the Operating Room.
• Manage staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development.
• Ensure a sterile environment and the highest standards of patient safety throughout all surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care.
• Oversee the unit's budget, resources, and equipment maintenance.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Education:
  
  
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • A Master's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Experience:
  
  
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience within the Operating Room specialty is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience is required.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  
  
  • A California Registered Nurse License is required upon hire.
  • A National Provider BLS from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
  • A professional certification such as CNOR (Certified Nurse, Operating Room) is highly preferred.
