CT Technologist - Full-Time

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing top quality and safe healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities since 1917. The CT Technologist assists physicians and performs radiological, paramedical, and clerical duties required in the care and assistance of patients. Works under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor and physicians. Is primarily responsible for helping with the daily operations of the CT department.

Job duties include:

• Preparing room, equipment, contrast media and materials as needed for procedures.
• Maintaining clean and stocked CT procedure room daily.
• Properly warming CT equipment daily, and assuring equipment is working properly.
• Preparing patient for CT procedure – explaining procedure, transferring patient to examination table, positioning patient correctly, and assisting patient at end of procedure.
• Labeling scans appropriately and using proper patient ID on film prior to development of film.
• Performing general clerical, file room, darkroom, and transportation duties when needed to fulfill the workload of the department.
• Practicing patient care according to ARMC policy.
• Assisting Radiologists during procedures and taking scans as requested.
• Knowing proper sequence of scheduling exams for the entire Radiology department.
• Considering age-related factors in obtaining images or performing diagnostic or therapeutic imaging studies.
• Rotating to other imaging departments as needed; participating in holiday and on-call rotation requirements.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of a radiological program or equivalent military training.
• BLS (or obtained within 90 days of employment).
• Current active or temporary South Carolina license issued by SC Radiation Quality Standards Association and current RT registration.
• One year experience working in preferred. CT experience in the clinical setting is required.
