Labor and Delivery Nurse We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers and their newborns in a supportive and collaborative environment. You will be an integral part of a team focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care during the labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum periods. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will monitor maternal and fetal well-being, assist with vaginal and cesarean births, administer medications, and provide education and support to patients and their families. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for women's health. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention. Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vital signs, recognizing and responding to potential complications. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including pain management. Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections. Provide immediate postpartum care to mothers and newborns. Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, newborn care, and postpartum recovery. Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Document patient care accurately and completely in the electronic health record. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. AWHONN or C-EFM certification. Preferred Qualifications 3 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. Previous charge nurse experience. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in antepartum and intrapartum monitoring. Experience with high-risk antepartum patients. Competent in Labor & Delivery, LDRP, and Mother/Baby care. Experience in a Level I Nursery. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Paragon charting system.
