Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics, employing standardized tests and observational methods.
Create tailored treatment plans addressing immediate goals and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
Deliver individual speech therapy interventions focusing on communication, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing improvement.
Work in tandem with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, medical doctors, caregivers, and families to formulate unified care strategies.
Educate patients and their families to promote ongoing progress beyond therapy sessions.
Facilitate occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and treatment, assuring a seamless continuity of care throughout the recovery trajectory.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation complying with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
Engage in continuing education and peer networking to stay abreast of advancements in the field.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.
State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.
Excellence in evidence-based treatment modalities for varied age groups, alongside a robust understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Outstanding interpersonal skills that foster effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Ability to modify therapy techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic considerations.
Strong aptitude for clinical reasoning and problem-solving.
Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation standards.
