Certified Optical Manager NL2 - Sam's

What you'll do Drive sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, proper signage, inventory levels, budgeting and forecasting. Assess economic trends and community needs. Provide direction and guidance to Associates on proper customer/member service approaches, ensuring complaints and issues are resolved within company guidelines. Participate in community outreach programs and encourage Associates to serve as good community members. Ensure compliance with company and legal policies, procedures and regulations for the Vision Center. Analyze and interpret reports, implement and monitor asset‑protection and safety controls, and oversee operational and quality‑assurance reviews. Develop and implement action plans to improve performance and provide strategic direction on company programs and initiatives. Supervise and develop Associates—hiring, training, mentoring, recognition, and fostering a belonging mindset. Ensure quality eyewear provision by consulting and educating members, selecting products, measuring, verifying prescriptions, maintaining confidentiality, performing minor frame repair, and maintaining optical equipment. Support the Open Door Policy by meeting and listening to Associates, researching issues, reviewing policies, and suggesting resolutions. Coordinate and oversee job‑related activities, develop relationships with stakeholders, and support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs. Identify and communicate goals and objectives, build accountability, measure progress, and identify improvement opportunities while promoting continuous learning. The hourly wage range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met. Minimum Qualifications Completion of 2 or more years of college OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience OR 2 years’ general work experience including 1 year’s optical experience. High school diploma or equivalent. Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws, regulations, and/or rules. Preferred Qualifications Supervising Associates.
