Diesel Mechanic

A growing Midwest transportation company is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Sauk Village, IL to maintain and repair a fleet of 150+ semi-trucks. Ideal candidates have strong PM and troubleshooting experience. Apply now to join a stable in-house fleet operation.

Pay: Up to $45/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Overtime available

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance services and routine inspections on a fleet of 150+ semi-trucks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues to keep equipment safe, reliable, and road-ready.
• Maintain and repair a multi-make fleet including Volvo, Freightliner, International, and Mack trucks.
• Identify maintenance issues during inspections and complete repairs efficiently to support fleet uptime.

Requirements
Required:

• Experience performing preventive maintenance and inspections on heavy-duty diesel trucks.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on semi-trucks.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience in a diesel shop or fleet maintenance environment.
• Experience working on a multi-make fleet, including Volvo, Freightliner, International, and Mack trucks.
• Ability to identify maintenance issues during inspections and complete repairs that support fleet uptime and safe operation.

Preferred:

• Experience maintaining Class 8 trucks in an in-house fleet environment.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and safety-focused equipment upkeep.
