Your Role
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric client bases through standardized assessments and observational methodologies.
- Cultivate customized treatment plans that meet immediate goals while accounting for long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions targeting language, fluency, voice, and swallowing interventions.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to create effective care strategies.
- Educate patients and their families to encourage progress beyond each session.
- Provide occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring comprehensive care across each step of the treatment path.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation aligned with all state, federal, and organizational requirements.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and stay updated on best practices through continuous education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
- Active state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within your first month of employment.
- Mastery of evidence-based practices pertinent to various age groups, with deep insight into both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing challenges.
- Exceptional communication skills that allow you to connect effectively with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt your therapy techniques to cater to a wide array of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical insight and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with documentation standards and electronic medical records.
