Speech Language Pathologist - SLP
Transform Lives Through Communication in the Emerald City – Join Our Team as a Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career where your expertise empowers individuals to express themselves and foster strong connections — welcome to the vibrant world of a Speech Language Pathologist in Seattle! Here, your role transcends typical therapy practices; you will facilitate meaningful interactions, boost self-esteem, and unlock the potential within your clients — from young children uttering their first coherent phrases to older adults rediscovering their voices.
This position offers a remarkable opportunity to work with diverse populations within a setting that harmonizes outpatient therapies with occasional inpatient care. Whether your heart lies in nurturing pediatric language skills, addressing adult neurogenic communication challenges, or supporting geriatric cognitive recovery, you'll embrace a fulfilling and flexible journey within our team.
Role Highlights
- Conduct assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients through both standardized tests and careful observation.
- Create tailored therapy plans that target immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions with a focus on communication, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
- Team up with occupational and physical therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to forge unified care strategies.
- Supply essential education to patients and their families to aid progress beyond clinical interactions.
- Participate in the provision of occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care continuity.
- Maintain meticulous and current documentation in alignment with state, federal, and organization-specific regulations.
- Engage in continuous learning to remain abreast of advancements in the field through educational opportunities and peer engagement.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Licensure and Certifications
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment commencement.
Key Competencies
- Expertise in evidence-based treatments catering to all age groups, alongside comprehensive knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to foster connections with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Flexibility in adapting therapy methods to address a multitude of cultural and linguistic needs.
- Strong clinical judgment coupled with effective problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
What We Offer
- Attractive compensation that corresponds with your expertise and experience.
- Work-life balance with flexible scheduling to accommodate varying workloads.
- Specialization options in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation or geriatrics.
- Paid time off (PTO) and holiday benefits.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages.
- Support for continuing education and professional growth initiatives.
- A collaborative environment that prioritizes quality care and promotes lifelong learning.
Your Journey Starts Here — Together We Can Make a Difference
In this role, your impact will reverberate throughout the community, as you help clients articulate their stories and reclaim their voices. You will collaborate with a team that values each member as family, thriving in a culture grounded in collective success rather than competition. Each patient brings a narrative with them; we trust you to assist in shaping it for the better.
Why Seattle Will Capture Your Heart
Living in Seattle offers an electrifying blend of urban sophistication and natural beauty. Renowned for its stunning waterfront, lush evergreen surroundings, and invigorating culture, this dynamic city is a paradise for those who appreciate adventure and community. Engage with the laid-back yet spirited lifestyle, where residents soak in the beauty of the iconic Mount Rainier, explore vibrant farmers markets, or binge on locally crafted coffee.
You can enjoy weekend escapades that include hiking in stunning national parks, indulging in delectable Pacific Northwest cuisine, or immersing yourself in the city's lively arts scene. Families can savor the sound of music in parks during summer concerts, and food enthusiasts will delight in the diverse culinary landscape that features everything from fresh seafood to globally inspired dining experiences.
For professionals, Seattle is not just about lifestyle; it offers a robust job market with flourishing healthcare opportunities, making it a prime location for career advancement—all paired with a relatively affordable cost of living, especially compared to many major metropolitan areas.
Whether you're a newcomer to the field or a seasoned practitioner, Seattle is a canvas where your ambitions can bloom — both personally and professionally.
Who We Envision
We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist who is motivated by results as well as compassion. A visionary who can see the unspoken potential in a child who struggles with communication and recognizes the resolute spirit in an adult recovering from a stroke.
You may be specialized in pediatrics eager to dive into adult therapies or possess a wealth of experience in neurological rehabilitation while wishing to bring early intervention strategies to your practice setting.
Whatever your expertise, if you are poised to embrace empathy with skillful hands, we are eager to welcome you to our community.
Join Us in a Mission of Connection
If you believe that communication extends beyond mere words and that therapy encompasses the essence of human connection — if you prioritize building trust before uniting sounds with intention, and laughter alongside language — this could be your next rewarding chapter.
Come and be a part of an organization that champions the art of communication, foster connection, and appreciate the courage it takes for individuals to rediscover themselves. Apply today to lend your voice to our dedicated team and assist others in reclaiming theirs.
