Position Summary The Athletic Trainer provides intercollegiate athletes with injury prevention training, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. The role independently performs a full range of responsibilities, analyzes complex problems, and determines appropriate solutions in line with industry practices and campus policies. Responsibilities Applies professional concepts to deliver comprehensive, individualized training to optimize athletic performance, prevent injuries, and provide rehabilitation for chronic and acute injuries. Utilizes treatment plans incorporating therapeutic modalities, devices, and rehabilitation techniques. Screens and refers injured athletes to the athletic team physician or other medical services. Manages sport‑team travel requirements related to athletic training. Provides moderate to complex rehabilitation through therapeutic exercise programs. Maintains athletic training facilities and equipment, ensuring all equipment is fully operational and training rooms are kept to standard. Reports injuries, completes documentation, and maintains medical charts. Maintains discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive matters involving athletic injuries and treatment. Enforces safety procedures. Works collaboratively, organizes and prioritizes work assignments, and develops recommendations. Provides manual therapy skills applicable to orthopedics and sports medicine. Engages in professional development activities. Required Qualifications Computer skills relevant to job duties. Proficiency in athletic injury prevention and therapeutic modalities, devices, and rehabilitation techniques. Strong ability to maintain confidentiality regarding athletes’ injuries and treatment. Knowledge of electronic medical records systems. Current knowledge of applicable NCAA or NAIA rules for sports medicine positions. Excellent collaboration skills with athletes, physicians, faculty, staff, and department members. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Understanding of procurement functions and campus budget requirements for athletic equipment. Proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work assignments. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to serve a diverse client group. Advanced manual therapy skills for orthopedics and sports medicine. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training. Licenses / Certifications Professional certification. In good standing with the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers. Education / Training Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Salary & Benefits The budgeted annual salary range for this position is $75,000.00 – $85,000.00. The full pay scale for this classification is $74,700.00 – $132,900.00. This exempt, monthly‑paid position is full‑time (40 hours/week) and eligible for UC benefits. How to Apply To apply, please submit your resume and cover letter.
