A Day in the Life of an Assistant Project ManagerAs an Assistant Project Manager at First Onsite, you're at the heart of every project, turning plans into action and challenges into solutions. You'll collaborate closely with leadership to evaluate, develop, and execute scopes of work while keeping multiple projects running smoothly. From reviewing subcontractor proposals to preparing project schedules, your meticulous attention to detail ensures nothing slips through the cracks. You're the go-to problem solver, ready to step in and support crews whenever needed, all while maintaining accurate records and documentation that keep projects on track. Safety, quality, and excellence aren't just priorities-they're your standard.Your role goes beyond managing tasks-you'll actively monitor project budgets, profit margins, and schedules, making real-time decisions to keep everything on target. Acting as a vital bridge between leadership, clients, subcontractors, and in-house teams, you foster collaboration and clear communication every step of the way. You'll handle scopes of work, change orders, and billing with precision, thriving in a fast-paced environment where your contributions directly impact our success.Responsibilities:Work with leadership to understand, evaluate, develop, and execute the scope of workSolicit, receive, and approve proposals from subcontractors to perform work within budgetPrepare project schedule, including job crew and sub-contractors schedule, according to the scope of workManage, support, and assist job crewsFill in as needed when additional responsibilities/tasks need to be completed, including physical laborCreate and maintain job activity paperwork and jobsite inventoriesMaintain a daily log of conditions, activities, communications, and notable eventsPrepare reports, documentation, and other job-related administrative documentsProactively monitor and provide updates when there is risk of a project not meeting expected budget, gross profit margin, or scheduleManage receipt and approval of change ordersPerform or ensure execution of daily job site safety meetingsArrange for permits, as neededAccurately maintain daily reports, daily sign-in timesheets, equipment records, moisture maps, and material sheetsManage a defined scope of work and review opportunities for change ordersAssist with creating a project scheduleIssue work orders to subcontractors and manage their scope of work/change ordersPerform billing reviews to ensure accuracy of data enteredAvailable 24/7Experience & Education: Relevant leadership experience2+ years of experience in the restoration/construction industry, with experience/knowledge in water, flood, fire, smoke, mold, asbestos, and rebuild remediationHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Degree preferredValid driver's license requiredFirst Onsite provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
