Warehouse Receiver

• Location: Cedar Knolls, New Jersey
• Pay Rate: $17 - $19
• Position Type: Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM

Key Responsibilities

1. Receiving & Dock Operations

• Unload daily incoming shipments from UPS, FedEx, freight carriers, and local delivery services.
• Move boxes and merchandise safely into designated receiving areas.
• Inspect incoming shipments immediately for visible carton damage, shortages, or shipping errors.
• Report damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments promptly to management.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock area.

2. Garment Counting & Accuracy Verification

• Unpack and systematically count incoming garments by style, color, size, and quantity.
• Cross-reference received items against customer work orders, purchase orders, and approved mockups.
• Document all shortages, overages, and damaged items.
• Ensure 100% garment count and specification accuracy before releasing orders into production.

3. Job Separation & Order Organization

• Organize incoming garments by customer job number and production destination:
• • Embroidery: Garments scheduled for embroidered decoration.
  • Heat Press: Garments scheduled for DTF or heat-applied decoration.
  • Combination Orders: Garments requiring both decoration techniques.
• Follow specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) for separating combination orders into designated bins with corresponding work orders.
• Clearly label all bins, totes, and staging areas to prevent job mixing.

4. Complete vs. Incomplete Order Management

• Assess whether incoming shipments complete the total requirement for a customer order.
• Stage Complete Orders in designated "Production Ready" staging areas.
• Route Incomplete Orders to holding areas/red shelf storage, clearly marking missing items and outstanding quantities.
• Log incomplete orders in tracking logs and notify Procurement and Production teams.

5. Inventory & Documentation Tracking

• Accurately update physical and digital receiving records and production tracking systems.
• Ensure physical work orders and receiving documentation stay attached to the corresponding merchandise.
• Assist with inventory counts, stock reconciliations, and routine audits.

6. Cross-Departmental Coordination

• Collaborate closely with Procurement, Production Management, and Quality Control to communicate incoming shipment statuses and resolve garment discrepancies quickly.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 1+ years of experience in warehouse receiving, inventory control, or order staging (apparel or promotional products industry experience is a strong plus).
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy when counting garment units, cross-referencing SKUs, and checking styles/colors.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift/move boxes weighing up to 40–50 lbs regularly.
• Organizational Skills: Strong ability to keep job numbers, customer lots, and bin locations strictly segregated.
• Communication: Clear oral and written communication skills to coordinate with team leaders and record documentation accurately.
• Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with firm production deadlines.
