This individual will support capital and consumables purchases for the Starlink program.RESPONSIBILITIES:Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to assigned categoryForecast demand, evaluate capacity, and manage supply signals to adjust incoming materialTrack supplier performance on cost, on-time delivery, quality, and other metricsUtilize negotiations to maximize value and cost savings benefit while lowering riskCreate sourcing strategies for assigned category (including Equipment, Services, MRO, and custom parts to reduce risk and meet targets for the supply chain department including, but not limited to, payment terms, cash targets, continuity of supply, and cost savingsSolve complex, open-ended problems with an emphasis on speed and efficiencyDevelop a preferred supplier network and leverage it to minimize cost and lead timePerform onsite reviews of vendor capabilitiesResponsible for authoring of contract documents with the legal departmentManagement of contracts ensuring performance of the supplier to contract obligationsUnderstand interrelationships between contracts and terms while applying creativity and sound business reasoning to interpret application of contract to business needsMaximize value and cost savings through direct negotiations as well as cost modeling (i.e. Total Cost of Ownership, Should-Cost, etc.)BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; OR 3+ years of experience working in one or more of the following in lieu of a degree:EngineeringPurchasingContract negotiationMaterial or production planningOperations or supply chain managementMaterial cost controlMaster production schedulingPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:3+ years experience with capital expenditure purchasingExperience with purchasing for more than one categoryExtensive project management and organizational skillsExperience managing large scale capital projectsRemarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speedQuick learner and ability to prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needsExcellent customer service skillsEffective written, verbal, and presentation communication skillsExceptional analytical and organizational skillsStrong technical knowledge of MS Office SuiteAbility to conduct all activities with the highest degree of integrityDetail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environmentADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours - up to 20% work week travel may be required, including international travelWillingness to work long hours and weekend when needed to meet critical deadlinesThis position is based in Redmond, WA and requires being onsiteITAR REQUIREMENTS:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
