About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive/Critical Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM), every other weekend Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute inpatient ICU experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Acute Care Nursing - Patient Assessment - Care Plan Development - Care Plan Implementation - Clinical Intervention Monitoring Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The RN focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN emphasizes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN uses educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of patients and families. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor/preceptor. Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards.
