Complete assigned clerical and support tasks as directed by the Clerk of Courts or their designee. The Deputy Clerk is an unclassified employee appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Greene County Clerk of Courts under the provision of 124.11 (A)(10) of the Ohio Revised Code. Deputy Clerk - Auto Title Division Full - Time $18.00 Hourly

Assist the public and vehicle dealers in transferring titles, issuing titles for motor vehicles, trailers, boats, motorcycles, motor homes and interpreting procedures and laws. Filing and recording liens on titles, maintaining accurate records, verifying and notarizing documents, and conducting title searches. Process, transfer and issue certificate of titles, memorandums, duplicate titles, savage titles, for motor vehicles, boats, jet skis, ATVs and mobile homes. File and record liens and titles. Process lien cancellations on certificate of titles. Assist the general public, banks, financial institutions, vehicle dealers, county and state officials in transferring and obtaining information regarding title procedures according to the Ohio Revised Code. Interpret title procedures to banks, dealers and the public. Responsible for collection of sales tax and filing fees for title transfers. Answer questions over the telephone and over the counter regarding title transfers and records. Complete applications and notarize titles. Transfer cash and balance money in cash drawer accurately, make daily bank deposits, verifying funds on personal check acceptance. Programming, loading/unloading printer's daily. Run computer reports. Computer experience required. Type accurately 45 words per minute. Bookkeeping knowledge and ability to balance funds. Ability to maintain accuracy in records. Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions, oral and written. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to communicate well daily with the general public, financial institutions, officials and co-workers, knowledge of general office procedures. Ability to work without constant supervision, exercising initiative and sound judgment. Must be dependable and reliable. Must be able to work under pressure, with a polite manner. Ability to lift 30 pounds.

Must be a high school graduate at minimum. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have computer experience, monetary transaction experience and customer service experience. Any combination of training and work experience, which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed above. Must have an Ohio Driver's License.

There is a wide variety of benefits available to full-time permanent and some part-time permanent Greene County employees. The County pays 80% of the health care premium and 39% of the dental premium. All full-time employees are eligible for $50,000 group life insurance paid 100% by the County. Employees who are non-permanent, seasonal, intermittent, part-time scheduled for less than 60 hours per pay period, and external interim, are not benefit eligible.
