Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Labor & Delivery (L&D) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of current LDRP experience preferred License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Must-Have: 1+ years minimum of current LDRP experience with experience in 400+ deliveries a year preferred Description: The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing the health status of individuals and groups. This includes establishing nursing diagnoses, identifying and planning goals to meet health care needs, and prescribing nursing interventions. The RN implements the plan of care and evaluates and documents responses to interventions. Care is provided in a low-risk birthing unit that utilizes single room maternity care. The patient population includes obstetrical patients (antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum), clean female surgical cases, and newborn stabilization. Normal newborn care and pediatric patients during the Perinatal period are also included. Cesarean births are performed in this setting, and nursing personnel are provided for therapeutic procedures based on staffing availability. Experience with Cesarean sections, epidurals, and electronic charting is preferred. Proficiency in venipuncture is also desired. Travel experience is highly preferred. Active Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, and Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support (STABLE) certification are highly preferred.
